April 30, 2009i just sold my tj for an 07 Unlimited Sahara and i was wondering if there were any problems with the axles in peticular? everybody i talk to says that the front axles are 5 inches longer than the tj''s and there bending through mild play *or* oversized tires. i''d like to know so i might be able to go to katemcy on the 2-3 of may.

April 30, 2009I don''t know much about the JKs. Do you know what axles you have? What size tires are you running?
If you make it to katemcy, look for us. I have the blue CJ5 with red and white flames. Hard to miss.
91 YJ with just enough mods to make me a danger to myself....
April 30, 2009I have not heard of issues like that. I suposse if you jump your jeep you might bend an axle tube...but thats possible with any stock vehicle.
On the Sahara you wil have a Dana 44 rear and a Dana 30 front.

Id rather be in Moab. Rubicon...been there, want to do it again and again!
April 30, 2009I have read of problems with the outer C''s bending with larger tires and heavy wheelin. Off-Road Evolutions sells gussets for them to help out.
April 30, 2009Apparently, there have been a some JK''s with larger tires (that have been at least moderately used off-road) bend at the inner C and the axle tube separate from the diff housing. Burnsville Off-Road makes a gusset kit and axle sleeves for the front.

May 16, 2009My friend Allan wheels the crap out of his and has not had any problems yet. He is running 35 12.5 17 BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KM2''s.
