August 12, 2008You can''''t go wrong with Rubicon Express for a bolt on application... BDS is also a good choice but you may pay more...
August 12, 2008JP did a test of all the 4in short arms and the Black Diamond and the Trailmaster scored very well. Reasonably priced too.
Why you going with a 4in though? That''s enough to run 37''s and then some. I am looking at a 2.5in to 3in susp and a 1in body for 35''s on mine. From what I''ve read the 4in will kill your stock driveshafts in about 5000 miles.
August 12, 2008I read that article and was impressed and shocked at some of the results. I have no experience with Trailmaster but I would compare the trailmaster and black diamond to skyjacker and superlift. Truck suspension companies. Rubicon Express is a Jeep suspension company. For the JK I would have said Nth Degree for the short arm but i''m still waiting to see what AEV is going to do with the systems. The support you get with Rubicon Express is first class.
The JK driveshafts are very mickey mouse, suprisingly mounted between a NP241 t-case and Dana 44. A new DS should be a first consideration if you plan on wheeling it.
August 12, 2008runnin some of the trails i have looked at like rusch creek and some others over here on the east coast you need that at least
August 12, 2008JK''s have ample tire clearance. 33''s will fit a stock vehicle 35''s with a 1.5" leveling kit... RDNK was probably throwing that out there for the new JK owner. It may not be necesary to spend $1000 on a kit yet.
August 18, 2008thanks for all the info guys i apreciate it i am looking at probaly a either a bbb *or* a 3" lift right now
