June 7, 2007Is there a way to swap the lights and grille on a 87 wrangler to make it have round headlights?

June 7, 2007nope for that is a sin that will not be commited, kill retangles with circles i think NOT. yea there is a way to do it, im pretty sure its a direct swap actually
June 7, 2007a sin? I never have been fond of the squares! No offence to those who have them. I just think that the round ones look much better!
June 7, 2007thats the way to be slowly getting rid of the square's
June 7, 2007hey hey i think us squares could take you circles in a rumble
June 7, 2007Try this link there was a guy that did what you want to do. Must be more of common place thing to want to get rid of the square lights then what most people think. Don't know if it will work but try it anyway.
June 7, 2007There was a company going to make a YJ grill with round holes, but they ran into Patent issues. I have seen a few guys use TJ grills, but they do not line up well enough for my taste. (kinda picky when it comes to details) I am actually working on a metal overlay that will replace the rectangle with round. (not that I want them, but figure there are enough of "unfaithfulls" out there to make it worth my while . I will keep you posted
June 7, 2007steve you will not convert i will hunt you down and kill you
June 7, 2007Thanks guys! This one looks good but I do see where the hood does not match as well in the corners! Not enough to bother me though.
June 7, 2007You can't see it unless it is a front pic as there are gaps at the corners of the hood. Also the fenders are tilted up a little. Like I said, I am very picky and I acknowledge it. What is unexceptable to me is perfectly fine with the next guy. I guess it is called personel preference. Just something wrong with round lights in a YJ. Guess that is why they made TJ's
June 7, 2007say it isnt so! im proud of my headlights that have corners. id rather spend some hard earned money on mods that help performance myself. but thats me. and ive seen tj grilles in yjs and i wouldnt be happy with the fit on my rig. they look good from the back and sides of the jeep though.
but if i really wanted to do it. i would take both grilles and get creative cutting and welding and grinding and hammering and filling and sanding to make one that fits well.
