January 28, 2005YES, tell us about the cold air intake....I have HIGH engine compartment temps and usually end up sucking air that is about 175 degress!!! NOT good for the horsepower numbers. Need some ideas for a cold air setup!!

January 28, 2005I'm tellin ya'll... it's rednecked...
Here goes... the filter sits in the same place but we drilled the holes in the outside of the box, towards front of Jeep. Then we ran some kind of tubing the other half has from the box & it's snaked down to right under the front bumper. It can't be seen but it's real redneck. We've got a catch all in the end of the tube at the bumper and then we've got one between the hose that goes into the box. So it's kinda like goin through 2 filters before it hits the air filter. I kinda thiefed this idea off a friend with one of those 11 second cars.
But Pete is now an on road Jeep and we don't go off roading much now, maybe up a rough dirt road, at the most. I haven't had it on there long, since prolly July or so, and he's been in the shop since September. So i'm not real sure how well it'll work as far as hard off roadin'.
